There is No One like Our God: Part 4- Enriched Roots

Part 4: Enriched Roots

The Reign of Jesse's Offspring:

Isaiah 11:10
And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

Romans 15:12
And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.

The Bread from Heaven:
31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.

32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

•Adam & Eve ate of a tree that brought forth death

"So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate."
 (Genesis 3:6 NKJV)

•We eat of a tree (The Root of Jesse) that brings forth life (John 15 The True Vine)

Sons & Heirs:
"For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise."
(Galatians 3:26, 29 NKJV)

"Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world.
But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”
Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ."
(Galatians 4:3-7 NKJV)

Institution of The Lord's Supper:
"For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes."
(I Corinthians 11:23-26 NKJV)

The True Vine:
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.

Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.

You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.

Abide in Me, and I in you.

As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

“I am the vine, you are the branches.
He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples."
 (John 15:1-8 NKJV)

"And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ”
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate."
(Genesis 3:2, 3, 6 NKJV)

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another."
 (Galatians 5:22-26 NKJV)

Disney's illustration of Snow White is a familiar story we all know and love. I'll use it as an example.

Snow White was in the kitchen when she heard the sound at the door: KNOCK! KNOCK!

"Who's there?" she called suspiciously, remembering the dwarfs (God) advice.

"I'm an old peasant woman (The Serpent) selling apples," came the reply.

"I don't need any apples, thank you," she replied.

"But they are beautiful apples and ever so juicy!" said the velvety voice from outside the door.

"I'm not supposed to open the door to anyone," said the little girl, who was reluctant to disobey her friends (Her God).

"And quite right too! Good girl! If you promised not to open up to strangers, then of course you can't buy. You are a good girl indeed!" Then the old woman went on.

"And as a reward for being good, I'm going to make you a gift of one of my apples!" Without a further thought, Snow White opened the door just a tiny crack, to take the apple.

"There! Now isn't that a nice apple?" Snow White bit into the fruit (Forbidden), and as she did, fell to the ground in a faint: the effect of the terrible poison (Sin) left her lifeless instantaneously.

Now chuckling evilly, the wicked stepmother hurried off.

Meanwhile, the dwarfs came out of the mine to find the sky had grown dark and stormy. Loud thunder echoed through the valleys and streaks of lightning ripped the sky. Worried about Snow White they ran as quickly as they could down the mountain to the cottage.

There they found Snow White, lying still and lifeless, the poisoned apple by her side. They did their best to bring her around, but it was no use.

They wept and wept for a long time. Then they laid her on a bed of rose petals, carried her into the forest and put her in a crystal coffin.

Each day they laid a flower there.

Then one evening, they discovered a strange young man admiring Snow White's lovely face through the glass. After listening to the story, the Prince (for he was a prince!) made a suggestion.

"If you allow me to take her to the Castle, I'll call in famous doctors (The Great Physician) to waken her from this peculiar sleep. She's so lovely . . . I'd love to kiss her. . . !" He did, and as though by magic, the Prince's kiss (Jesus' Death & Resurrection), broke the spell  everyone's astonishment, Snow White opened her eyes. She had amazingly come back to life! Now in love, the Prince asked Snow White to marry him, and the dwarfs reluctantly had to say good bye to Snow White.

From that day on, Snow White lived happily in a great castle. But from time to time, she was drawn back to visit the little cottage down in the forest.

•It's obviously a Fairy Tale. But I love the Truth found in its subtle way of introducing enticement & the repercussions of it's deceitful impression.

"For such are *false apostles, *deceitful workers, *transforming themselves into apostles of Christ.
And no wonder!
[For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.]
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works."
(II Corinthians 11:13-15 NKJV)

When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.

But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
(Matthew 9:12, 13 NKJV)

•We learn of Eve & Adam's fall, even Snow White and her unfortunate mishap. We are aware of "The Forbidden Fruit" & the curse of its taste.

"Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners shall be converted to You."
 (Psalms 51:13 NKJV)

The Bread of Life:
The Jews then complained about Him, because He said, “I am the bread which came down from heaven.”

And they said, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, ‘I have come down from heaven’ ?”

Jesus therefore answered and said to them, “Do not murmur among yourselves. No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me. Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father. Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

The Jews therefore quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?”

Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. This is the bread which came down from heaven—not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.”

Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying; who can understand it?”
When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, “Does this offend you?

John 6:41-58, 60, 61

There is No One like Our God: Part 3- The Garden of Eden

Part 3: The Garden of Eden

And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. (Genesis 2:9 NKJV)

Life in God's Garden:
And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
Genesis 2:16, 17

Loving God Under Trials:
Blessed is the man who endures *temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of *life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.

•But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own *desires and enticed.

(Psalm 37:4)

•Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. James 1:12-15

Psalms 51:5
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Psalms 58:3
The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

Psalms 58:4
Their poison [is] like the poison of a serpent: [they are] like the deaf adder [that] stoppeth her ear;

Psalms 58:5
Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely.

Psalms 58:6
Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD.

Submit to God, Resist the Devil:
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
I Peter 5:8, 9

The Temptation & Fall of Man:
Now the serpent was more cunning than any *beast of the field [which the Lord God had made.]

And he said to the woman,
“Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

And the woman said to the serpent,
“We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ”

Then the serpent said to the woman,
“You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

[The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself. Ezekiel 18:20]

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

[Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.
I John 3:4]

Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him,
 “Where are you?”
So he said,
“I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”

And He said,
“Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?”

Then the man said,
“The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.”

[So then each of us shall give account of himself to God. Romans 14:12]

And the Lord God said to the woman,
“What is this you have done?”

The woman said,
“The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

[So then each of us shall give account of himself to God. (Romans 14:12]

In the sweat of your face you shall eat *bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.”

Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil.

Isaiah 7:15
Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.

And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”
— therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken.

Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it. Ecclesiastes 12:7

So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to *the tree of life. (Ezekiel 47:12; Revelation 22:2)

Genesis 3:1-13, 19, 22-24

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not hear.

The Whole Armor of God:
Put on the whole armor of God, that [you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.] For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that [you may be able to withstand in the evil day,] and having done all, to stand.
Ephesians 6:11-13

The Genealogy of Jesus Christ:
(Luke 3:23-38)

the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.
Luke 3:38

•The Ancestry of Jesus Christ is traced up to Adam, "Adam, the son of God."
(Adam is named here in Luke)
Mt. 19:4-6; Mk. 10:6-8 referring to Genesis 1:272:24

Death in Adam, Life in Christ:
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned— (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which came from one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resulted in justification. For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.) Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.
Romans 5:12-19

And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
I Corinthians 15:45

A Glorious Body:
However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual. The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven. As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man.
I Corinthians 15:46-49

who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.
Philippians 3:21

The Children of God:
Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

Q. 1. What is the chief end of man?
A. Man's chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.

Genesis 1:26-28
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

"And God said, Let [us] make man in [our image], after [our likeness]."

Q) Explain How a Shadow Is Formed?
Answer: Shadow is an area of darkness formed when "the light" is stopped by an "object." Different "object" that stops "the light" include buildings and humans. The direction and length of the shadow changes with change in position and direction of source of light.

Shadow- Man
Object- Trinity

Q) How Do Mirrors Work?
Answer: Mirrors are made up of layers of glass. Now usually when light travels it will travel in a straight unless it hits something, BUT when light hits a mirror it bounces or "reflects" back in the same direction. Which is why when looking in a mirror it "reflects" an exact "image" of whats looking into it except it looks backwards.

•God is sovereign (The Ruler over All)
•Adam ruled over beast (under God's authority)
•beast (under authority by it's Creator, God- and it's Ruler, Adam)

Adam- 1st King
Jesus- King of Kings

"The first king in the earth was Adam and it was said by God to Adam that he had dominion over the earth.
He was the first monarch but he fell and since he fell the Old Testament had to end with a curse."

"And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.” (Malachi 4:6 NKJV)

"But in the New Testament there's a new king and that's why Matthew starts the New Testament because he is the one who presents the King.
The King is immediately presented.
The last Adam, the second Adam, the greater than Adam and He is a King who does not fall.
The first king fell and left a curse, the second King reigns and leaves a blessing.

One writer put it this way, the first Adam was tested in a beautiful garden and failed; the last Adam was tested in a dangerous desert and succeeded. Because the first Adam was a thief he was cast out of paradise but the last Adam turned to a thief on a cross and said, "Today, shalt thou be with Me in paradise".
The book of the generations of the first Adam ends with a curse, the book of the generations of Jesus Christ ends with a promise, "There shall be no more curse".
That's how Revelations ends."
